I met Jim at Ft. Dix when I was sergeant of the barracks in which he was staying for his "short tour". Since I had a "room" versus the open area (being the sarge), Jim would come into my room and strummed his guitar with some songs. At the time, I didn't know of his songs (I was a country boy then). I asked him if I could record some of his singin' an strummin'. He said sure. So, somewhere in my collection of reel to reel tapes, I have songs that he played for me. Now, all I have to do is find them and hope that they are still playable.
Jim seemed to be just a real nice guy who was too relaxed to be in the Army.
Just reminiscing.
